Quite a few years back the Director Mel Brooks wrote (along with Norman Steinberg) and directed a bathroom humor comedy called “Blazing Saddles”. In it he seems to have been prophetic about a new sheriff, a leader in a western town where the old town coot was the lookout while the whole town waited for the sheriffs arrival. As a cloud of dust rises over a hill signaling the impending arrival of the new sheriff the towns people wait anxiously and the old coot strains his gaze ready to shout to the towns folk his first look describing the sheriff from afar. As the sheriff comes into view from the lookout on top of one of the buildings on main street the old coot sees the sheriff and shouts to his fellow towns people that, “the sheriff is a n****r!” Just as he begins to expel the last word of his statement a train whistle blows and the towns people can’t hear that last explicit word. He repeats himself again with a greater emphasis on that last word, “the sheriff is a n****r!” This time the church bell rings as he attempts to so crudely and with utter ignorance proclaim his observation, that the sheriff is a black man.
The utter stupid absurdity of the scene back then made it funny. Little did we know then what we are witnessing now. Not only do we hear that same alert that some are trying to proclaim through the train whistle of the birthers, the ringing bell of the alarmists warning of impending indoctrination of school children and the shouts of “you lie!” from their own contrived rooftop, but from our supposed leadership. Leaders need to lead, to lead by example and sheparding ones herd by preaching hate is not what I think we want this country to stand for or what Americans expect. I’m appalled and disgusted by what I’ve seen and heard recently.

Funny thing was my friend was of Middle Eastern decent, olived skinned with tight kinky black hair. Guess it really doesn't matter to these pointy head guys, just as long as your skin is different than theirs.
Don't think this kind of thinking doesn't exist anymore, it does unfortunately!
